One big city + one shared dream = 2 new friends. This is how RoL’n Productions was born in 2015. After finding each other across an ocean a decade earlier, Liane Grant and Roxanne Lamendola became the best of friends and colleagues after fate brought them together in New York City at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Their talent and passion for acting has led them to further develop their writing skills, creating many unique and thought-provoking projects. Between these two artists alone lies over 40 stage and screen credits, numerous producing and directing credits, a Telly Award, a Fresh Fruit Festival Award, 2 original musicals, an original screenplay, a full-length stage play, 2 acting degrees, a BA and MA from Cambridge University, performances in 2 Emmy-nominated TV shows, and songs on feature TV and film projects (BMI). Their next step: world domination. Well, at least in the realm of the arts! What drives RoL’n Productions is not solely a passion to provide work for themselves, but also to provide opportunities for the many talented yet underrepresented female-identifying artists in this industry. Our work continues to evolve and excite and we hope you'll join us on our journey.
RoL’n Productions inaugural production of Thomas Babe’s Taken in Marriage ran at the Waterloo East Theatre in London in July 2015. It provided opportunities for 9 cast and creatives, all women, to showcase their talent.
Our second production of Half me, half you, Co-founder Liane Grant's searing new play, debuted in New York at the Fresh Fruit Festival before running in London at the Tristan Bates Theatre and the Tabard Theatre, receiving much critical acclaim. Half me, half you returned to the Tristan Bates theatre for its second outing in March 2019, shortly after it was announced that the play had won Liane Grant the award for Outstanding Play at the Fresh Fruit Festival, as well as Outstanding Featured Actress for one its stars, Jennifer Fouché.
We are proud that our second production continues our commitment to providing more arts opportunities for women, including all 4 cast members, of which 2 parts are written specifically for women of colour, a female director, female producers, lighting designer, stage management team and publicity designers, plus 2 female student interns. There are so many talented women, actors and creatives, of all races, many who identify as LGBTQIA+, whose passion and skill deserve a chance to shine, and we can't wait to work with as many of you as possible!
This is how we RoL'n...
